Life in IT is pretty shitty when it’s so misunderstood and mismanaged. It becomes thankless and frustrating as people realize that they are powerless to change the outcome, like an endlessly repeating horror movie.

Yeah. This all sounds like a great idea with no chance of catastrophic failure.

To specialize in something is, roughly speaking, to be left alone to do just that thing and not be bothered with other tasks, interruptions, and other agents’ agendas.

I guess you could call it a “failure,” but I prefer the term “learning experience.”

Nevertheless, strategy is primarily about deciding what is truly important and focusing resources and action on that objective. It is a hard discipline because focusing on one thing slights another.

If you fail to identify and analyze the obstacles, you don’t have a strategy. Instead, you have either a stretch goal, a budget, or a list of things you wish would happen.

Na, also. Gerade darum haben wir Janus und das Internet schließlich erfunden. Gerade damit wir jeden einzelnen überwachen können.

Es gibt nur ein marktbeherrschendes Online-Kaufhaus, in dem wir unsere Bücher, Filme, Kleidung und vieles mehr einkaufen. Warum? Weil wir das so steuern. Wir haben dafür gesorgt, dass diese Produkte und Unternehmen eine Monopolstellung einnehmen. Nur so können wir uns die lückenlose Kontrolle über möglichst viele User sichern. Mich wundert es daher schon, dass das bislang so wenige Menschen stutzig gemacht hat.
